Dr. Nicole M. Cooper

EVP, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer

Dr. Cooper serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at United Way Worldwide (UWW), leading the design and development of a strategic organizational framework to ensure UWW’s path forward is one of impact, relevance, and sustainability. In collaboration with the President and CEO, Dr. Cooper drives high-impact policy and strategies to advance critical multi-sector partnerships and the positioning of UWW in key domestic and international circles.

Before joining UWW, Dr. Cooper served as the Senior Vice President of Health Equity Strategic Partnerships at UnitedHealth Group; the Head of Healthcare Policy at Lyft; the Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at UnitedHealthcare and was an Obama administration political appointee supporting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Cooper holds a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College, a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Management & Policy from the University of Michigan, and a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Health Policy from Harvard University. She has received many awards, including Business Insider’s D.C. Healthcare Power List, National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health, and is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
