Supporting Mental Health
Providing mental health support to the most vulnerable members of our communities
Everyone has mental health, but social stigma and lack of access to care prevent millions from getting the support they need to thrive.
That’s why United Way partners with healthcare providers, educators, and grassroots leaders to create more equitable, compassionate mental health support systems. From peer connection programs to crisis care and trauma-informed resources, we're ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be well—no matter where they live or what they’ve been through.
Equipping Law Enforcement with Mental Health Crisis Training
In Florida, United Way of Broward County's Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training is equipping law enforcement officers with the skills to respond to mental health crises with empathy, compassion, and care. In partnership with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, this training helps bridge the gap between first responders and the people they serve.
Supporting Youth Mental Health
Through the EveryDay Strong initiative, United Way gives parents, teachers, and caregivers tools to help kids feel safe, connected, and confident. We teach communities how to build kids' emotional strength step by step; equipping them to thrive in school, relationships, and life.
