Access to Health Care
We work to reduce disparities and expand care, from chronic disease management to maternal health and mental health, so everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
At United Way, we believe that access to quality health care is a fundamental human right. Access to health care shouldn’t depend on your income, background, or where you live. But for many, it still does. United Way is working to close the gap. Through local partnerships and national policy, we’re addressing disparities in care, supporting maternal health, bringing mobile clinics to underserved communities, and helping caregivers navigate complex systems. Together, we’re building a future where everyone has the opportunity to be healthy.

What We Do
We remove barriers to good health by partnering with local clinics, mobile health services, and local nonprofits to bring affordable, preventative care closer to home. We also work with policy-makers to advocate for a better good health infrastructure.

Mobile Care for Those Who Need It Most
In Texas, United Way launched Salud y Vida, a mobile medical unit that brings diabetes care and chronic disease management directly to the community. It’s part of a decades-long commitment to improving health in the region—because managing your health shouldn’t mean choosing between food, rent, and medicine.
