United Way of Greater Houston leads a coordinated, community-wide approach to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. We strengthen partnerships, build nonprofit capacity, and mobilize resources to ensure rapid, data-informed support for the hardest-hit communities. From year-round preparedness initiatives to disaster recovery funding, navigation services, and volunteer coordination, we help our region respond effectively and recover stronger after disasters.

Our Impact

In 2025, we held Disaster Preparedness & Resilience Workshops across the region. These free events give residents the tools to prepare for the unexpected — with additional emphasis on communities facing the highest disaster risk, including those located in designated Community Disaster Resilience Zones in Harris County.
