United Way of Greater Los Angeles empowers residents to prepare for disasters like wildfires, floods, and extreme heat. Through our partnerships, we provide access to community events and workshops where families can be better equipped to make emergency plans as well as access immediate resources.
By collaborating with trusted local groups, we provide culturally relevant outreach, distribute preparedness kits, and connect people to recovery resources—building stronger, more resilient neighborhoods together.
Beginning Saturday, September 5th through December 31st, 2026, our community-based partners Project Passion, My Tribe Rise, DENA Heals, and LA Voice will be holding a range of disaster preparedness-related events and workshops throughout the Altadena and Pasadena communities.
Our goal is to distribute 1,000 Disaster Resilience Kits and provide hands-on instruction that help participants create an emergency plan, learn how to use the kit, and prepare for future emergencies.
