Africa
Countries In This Region
Overview
Across Africa, many countries face steep barriers to quality education, job opportunities, sanitation, and food security. For more than 22 years, United Way has been active in Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. Together, these countries represent nearly 30% of the continent's population.
Local United Ways in these countries are mobilizing individuals and partners across the private and public sectors to strengthen early childhood development, education, and youth leadership; expand food access and employment opportunities; reduce the gender income gap; and respond to natural disasters.
What excites me about my work with United Way is that I see real life-transforming change in people's lives.
