In Nigeria, entrepreneurial spirit is everywhere. But opportunity isn’t always equally distributed. That’s why United Way Greater Nigeria partnered with the ASTRA Fellowship Productivity Accelerator to equip young business owners with the leadership, strategy, and confidence to grow.

Founded by Bode Pedro, a Nigerian entrepreneur and innovator, the ASTRA Fellowship supports early-stage entrepreneurs through a rigorous program of leadership development, business training, and mentorship. This past year, with United Way’s backing, 50 young Nigerians joined the accelerator’s second cohort. They represent industries from agriculture to healthcare to finance.

“We joined to scale the fellowship’s impact” said Deola Durodola, CEO of United Way Greater Nigeria. “This cohort brings even more diversity and depth. These entrepreneurs are ready for the next step.”

This opportunity allowed me to develop as a leader and take my business to the next level. The mentorship access was everything.”

One of those entrepreneurs is Jennifer Jonathan, CEO of Business Solution Marketplace. “This opportunity allowed me to develop as a leader and take my business to the next level,” she said. “The mentorship access was everything.”

The program sharpens strategy and helps founders navigate Nigeria’s business landscape. Participants build networks, gain insight, and prepare to grow their enterprises beyond local markets.

The impact is clear: 50 entrepreneurs now have the tools to grow their businesses, create jobs, and strengthen their communities. It’s part of United Way’s broader mission to expand youth opportunity, opening doors for the next generation of leaders in every corner of the world.
