Bay Area Prepares
Serving Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Solano counties
United Way Bay Area has been at the forefront of disaster preparedness and recovery for decades. Through workshops, kits, guides, tools, and resources like 211, plus our partnerships with community organizations like CalFire, we ensure all of our neighbors are ready for and recover from earthquakes, wildfires, floods, and other disasters affecting our region. United Way Bay Area is there for our neighbors — before, during, and long after an emergency.
Getting Disaster Ready
At an event in Napa County, more than 50 volunteers assembled 520 emergency preparedness kits and got tips on how they could better plan and prepare for disasters.
One participant who had been forced to evacuate four times, said she wanted to be ready if and when there was a next time.
“This is amazing," she of her newly assembled go bag sponsored by Verizon and United Way Bay Area. “A bag and the emergency numbers and all this information."
