United Way named #1 on Chronicle of Philanthropy’s America’s Favorite Charities List

(October 7, 2025) Today, the Chronicle of Philanthropy released its America’s Favorite Charities list – with United Way once again ranking first. 

Chronicle of Philanthropy identifies the 100 nonprofits that earn the most support from individual Americans, private foundations, and corporate philanthropies. Organizations are ranked based on the average amount they raised annually from 2021 through 2023, the latest year data are available for all groups. 

Being ranked number one on The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s America’s Favorite Charities list is a powerful reminder of the trust that people place in United Way. We are honored to serve people in communities across 95 percent of America. Our ranking reflects the dedication of our network, staff, partners, volunteers, and donors – who all come together to create lasting, positive change in communities.
