Hunger touches every corner of our country.

At United Way, we work with community partners to support families facing food insecurity because everyone deserves access to nutritious food. From food banks to last-mile deliveries, we’re making a difference one meal at a time. And you can, too.

  1. Find a few nonperishables. Look in your pantry — or next time you’re shopping, pick up a few extra shelf-stable items like canned veggies, soup, pasta, rice, cereal, or peanut butter. Every item helps.
  2. Bag them up. Place your nonperishables in a sturdy bag. There’s no official bag required—anything clean and weather-resistant will do. Some communities may receive a Stamp Out Hunger bag from their mail carrier, but any bag works just fine.
  3. Leave your bag by your mailbox early Saturday, May 10. Your letter carrier will pick up the food and deliver it to a local food pantry. It’s that easy to make an impact. No form to fill out. No drop-off needed. Just a few steps can help feed your neighbors.

This year marks the 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, a nationwide effort hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers in partnership with United Way, the AFL-CIO, the U.S. Postal Service, Kellanova and others.

Across the country, local United Ways, power this effort by coordinating with local food banks, organizing volunteer efforts, and helping ensure the efficient distribution of donated food — so your generosity goes even further. In 2024 alone, 43 million pounds of food were collected and distributed — because neighbors like you stepped up.

Fighting hunger doesn’t stop after May 10. Learn how you can support food access and build a healthier, more resilient community year-round.
