United Way Ghana helped refurbish a school library in Accra, Ghana, adding chairs, tables and books.

Around the world, United Way works to help young people realize their full potential. In places like Accra, Ghana, it can require starting with the basics to make learning possible.

Located in Dansoman, a suburban town on the coastal plain of Ghana's Greater Accra Region, the school serves more than 1,700 students, including boarding and day students.

United Way partnered with the Ghana Education Service, school leaders, community leaders, and the PTA to refurbish the library so students have a safe, reliable place to read, study, and prepare for exams.

With a renewed library and better access to books and study space, the new facility lets students focus and aim higher as the school moves from a Category C to a Category A rating.
