United Way Worldwide to close Disaster Funds

Effective August 15, 2011 the United Way Worldwide Hurricane Recovery Fund Gulf Coast, Hurricane Response and Recovery Fund - Long Term Recovery in the Gulf Coast, Haiti Earthquake, and the Haiti Earthquake Affected Recovery funds will not be accepting any further donations. Contributions received after August 15, 2011 will be directed to United Way Worldwide’s General Disaster Recovery Fund to be used in support of victims of other disasters occurring worldwide.  If you have made a donation to United Way Worldwide’s Disaster Relief Fund for Katrina or Haiti, after August 15, 2011 and do not wish your contribution to be directed to the United Way Worldwide General Disaster Recovery Fund, you may request a return of your contribution by sending a written request to:
