United Way and Pop-Tarts Announce Winners of the Unwrap the Future Challenge

Alexandria, VA (January 27, 2020)  Today, Pop-Tarts and United Way announced the winners of the 2020 Unwrap the Future Challenge, a contest inviting young entrants to share their ideas for community improvement. The 21 winners, between the ages of 13 and 22, will each receive a $2500 grant to spark their idea for how best to improve their community. The winning ideas tackle issues such as local food insecurity, mental health issues, homelessness, bullying, and other challenges facing communities. 

“United Way is once again amazed at the creative solutions our next generation of problem-solvers have come up with. This generation is open-minded, innovative and solution focused," said Stan Little, Chief Experience Officer, United Way Worldwide.  “By joining forces with Pop-Tarts, United Way is able to support the social wellness work of young people in local communities in the months and years to come.” 

“Pop-Tarts wants to provide the spark for young people to use their creativity and curiosity to bring positive change in their community, and this is just the start,” said Pop-Tarts’ Sarah Reinecke, Senior Director, Brand Marketing. “In addition, Pop-Tarts and Kellogg are committed to creating Better Days for 3 billion people by the end of 2030.”
