United Way joins the nation in mourning the loss of Gen. Colin Powell – solider, statesman, humanitarian and visionary.
We were proud to join the America’s Promise Alliance and, inspired by Gen. Powell’s leadership, help more youth graduate from high school and begin successful lives as a part of our Goals for the Common Good. Gen. Powell underscored how educating the next generation was critical, not just to their individual success, but to our economy and our national security.
We hope others will join us in honoring Gen. Powell’s commitment to duty, country, youth and our future. United Way will honor his legacy by re-affirming our commitment to childhood and youth success.
