Colgate-Palmolive Donates Over $2.3 Million in Health and Hygiene Products to United Way

ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 6, 2020) – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the daily lives of countless Americans, health and hygiene needs are more critical than ever. To help vulnerable communities stay safe and healthy, Colgate-Palmolive Company is donating over $2.3 million in health and hygiene products to United Way.

From toothbrushes and toothpaste to body wash and hand soap, the products will help families with some of their most basic―and important―health and hygiene needs. In Bristol, Pennsylvania, 85,000 toothbrushes were delivered to Healthy Eating & Living Partnership Center, a community space for nonprofit organizations in the area to organize and distribute food, personal hygiene supplies and products to hundreds of residents in need.

This in-kind donation comes as experts say the COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the global economy into the deepest recession since the Second World War. Reports from the Labor Department show that U.S. employers shed over 22 million positions from payrolls in March and April.

United Ways in Atlanta, Georgia; New York City, New York; Los Angeles, California; Akron, Ohio; Bristol, Pennsylvania; Ocala, Florida; and Houston, Texas have also received generous supplies of Colgate-Palmolive products.
