Whirlpool's global and U.S. headquarter locations, manufacturing divisions and facilities participate every year in raising funds for local United Way campaigns, often breaking records for United Way pledging and fundraising, with employee and retiree giving—along with Whirlpool Foundation funding—reaching $5 million or more in donations.
For more than a decade, Whirlpool Canada has run an internal fundraising campaign in support of United Way. Each year, its financial and participation goals are increased. They raised the bar again in 2017 with a campaign theme that celebrated Whirlpool Canada’s diverse culture through travel experiences. Employees exceeded their fundraising goals by raising more than $238,000, an 38 percent increase from the previous year. Employee participation also hit an all-time high of 90 percent.
