Jorge Uribe worked in P&G in numerous positions across different continents and markets until his recent retirement after almost 34 years of service. The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is a recognized global leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of some of the world’s most trusted leadership brands. Established in 1837, P&G has grown into the world’s largest consumer goods products company that today markets brands in more than 180 countries.
Mr. Uribe joined P&G in 1981 and retired in June’16 He held numerous positions in the company such as Marketing Assistant in Geneva, Brand Manager in Malaysia, Associate Marketing Manager in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Countries, General Manager in Colombia, Vice President in Venezuela and the Andean Region and the President of the Latin America business for 8.5 years when he became the Global Productivity & Organization Transformation Officer for over 2.5 years until his retirement.
He has a longstanding commitment to United Way, having served on the boards of the United Way in Colombia and Venezuela, United Way International and the United Way Global Transition Board. He chaired the international Membership Support and Development Committee, the worldwide membership accountability committee and currently chairs the United Way Worldwide Resource Development Committee. He also provided leadership to United Way’s Brazil initiative and works to increase network capacity in the Latin American region.
Mr. Uribe is personally dedicated to improving communities, having served on the board of directors in Colombia for the American Chamber of Commerce-Colombia, Council of American Companies, National Industry Association, and in Venezuela, the American Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce, Conapri and as president of Alianza Social. He is currently serving in the Board of Directors at Ingredion Inc, out of Chicago and in Grupo Argos and Carvajal SA out of Colombia.
Mr. Uribe was born in Medellin, Colombia; he attended Universidad Nacional and received his Master’s Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
