United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s women leaders invest in Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow (GTLT), an initiative that prepares girls in grades 7 through 12 to stay on track for college and career through mentoring, college tours and academic development. Through GTLT, young women have the opportunity to connect with women leaders who mentor them and help them develop skills that will set them on a path to a successful life.
So far, more than 400 girls have participated in this intensive program. In 2016, participants explored new colleges, heard from nine career speakers and connected with more than 100 women leaders in our region who participated in mentoring or shared words of wisdom and guidance to help them achieve success.
“After hearing from career speaker, Ms. Wentz, I learned an important lesson, my future depends on who I want to be not what others want me to be. Through GTLT, I continue to grow and become a better version of myself to positively impact my future.”
