Chipotle and United Way to Raise Funds for United Way Nebraska and Iowa Flood Relief Efforts

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – April 9, 2019 -- Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) will donate one-third of sales from restaurants in Sioux City, Iowa and Nebraska on Wednesday, April 10, to the United Way Nebraska and Iowa flood relief efforts. Raised funds will help United Way provide mid- and long-term recovery assistance to residents affected by the devastating floods in Nebraska and Iowa.

“We feel it’s important to be a good neighbor and help with the rebuilding process in the Nebraska and Iowa communities impacted by these historic floods,” said Laurie Schalow, Chief Corporate Reputation Officer at Chipotle. “By working closely with the United Way to raise funds for its Nebraska and Iowa flood relief efforts, we hope to assist the families and individuals recovering from this disaster.”

“United Way is honored to have an incredible partnership with Chipotle. Chipotle has generously joined our efforts to provide relief for those affected by the recent historic flooding of the Iowa and Nebraska region. Our 2-1-1 operators have been tirelessly serving on the front lines directing affected people to the resources they need,” said Mary Sellers, U.S. President, United Way Worldwide. “Iowa is my home, and I am proud that this partnership with Chipotle will help our community.”

To contribute to the cause, residents can simply visit any Chipotle in Sioux City, Iowa and Nebraska between open to close on Wednesday, April 10, and one-third of the pre-tax proceeds from food and beverage sales will be donated to the United Way. Digital, catering and takeout orders placed in the participating markets for April 10, in addition to any orders placed in the restaurants, will also be included in this fundraising effort.
