United Way Leaders Take to Capitol Hill in Effort to Reopen Government

[Alexandria, Va. October 11, 2013] – On Wednesday, representatives from United Ways across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., to advocate on behalf of our nation’s most vulnerable children and families. Fifty state and local United Ways met with their congressional delegations to relay their message that leaders in Washington must reopen the government and invest in programs that support communities in need.

United Way Launches Early Childhood Development Initiative in Shanghai

INDIANAPOLIS - September 19, 2013 - An Indianapolis mother, child and United Way early learning professional will be one of the featured segments nationally in American Graduate Day 2013, a public television broadcast Saturday, September 28, airing on WFYI FM 90.1 or TV 20, 11:00 am to 12 am (CT). Angi Parks and her 5-year-old daughter, Margaret Piñero, will travel to New York City for an interview on WNET New York Public Media. Their interview will be a direct feed to all participating stations as part of the second annual full-day, multi-platform event focusing on solutions to the nation's high school dropout crisis.

Target, United Way and Strive Announce Education Partnership
