United Way is Fighting for Everyone Impacted by Hurricane Michael

Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida Panhandle on October 10, making landfall as a Category 4 hurricane and the most powerful storm to hit the continental United States in nearly 50 years, according to the Associated Press. In response, United Way Worldwide reinforced its 2-1-1 service to assist those in the path of the hurricane. 2-1-1 is a free, 24/7 hotline, available in more than 180 languages, that provides information to individuals seeking community resources like shelter, food and water, recovery support and other basic needs before, during and after disasters. Individuals who need assistance during and after Hurricane Michael can access support services by:

Dialing 211 from a cell phone or landline.

Texting MICHAEL to 898-211.

More information about 2-1-1 can be found at 211.org.

YOU CAN Help Communities Recover from Hurricane MICHAEL

Donate to the United Way Hurricane Michael Recovery Fund to support communities in Florida, Alabama and Georgia impacted by the storm. United Ways in the affected areas will raise money locally and respond to emerging needs as appropriate, while this national fund will complement their efforts and provide a single clearinghouse for individual and corporate donors who want to impact all affected areas.

HELP COMMUNITIES REBUILD

The United Way Hurricane Michael Recovery Fund helps local United Ways meet storm-related needs and supports mid- and long-term recovery efforts. 100% of individual donations will be distributed to local United Ways in the affected areas. With your support, we can rebuild communities.
