211 and United Ways in Louisiana and Texas have been helping people find shelter, food, water and supplies. Louisiana 211 was officially activated by state leaders, and is encouraging residents to text LASHELTER to 898-211 for updates and assistance. Four local United Ways are raising funds to help storm victims.
