Hurricane Dorian has devastated the Bahamas, causing an estimated $7 billion in damages, leaving 70,000 people homeless and resulting in the loss of at least 43 lives. Thousands of homes, hospitals, and businesses have been destroyed by the Category 5 hurricane, one of the strongest ever to hit the area. Along the coastal areas of Virginia and the Carolinas, Dorian's powerful winds and dangerous storm surges have caused serious flooding and tornadoes.
