United Way Romania’s School after School Program

United Way Romania’s School after School Program

United Way Romania renewed its partnership with the City Hall of Cluj-Napoca and The Diakonia Christian Foundation for the 2014-2015 academic year and extended the School after School program to a new local school, thus increasing the number of assisted children to 120.

The “School after School” was launched in October 2013 and helped until now 90 kids from low-income families stay in school and complete their studies. All children receive a hot meal and help with their homework, while their parents benefit from social counseling and support in accessing their legal rights. As a result, none of kids abandoned school and at least one third of them improved their school results.
