The third edition of the Flying Challenge was officially launched on the 14th of November 2013 at the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC). Evelyne Berthou, the Director of the Cabinet at the ENAC honoured us by hosting the Flying Challenge in their well-known institution. Andrea Debbané, Executive Director of the Airbus Foundation alongside Marc Jouenne, Director of Human Resources at Airbus S.A.S and Nikita Droin, General Director of United Way France thus unveiled the programme for this year.
All the participants of the Flying Challenge were present: volunteer Airbus employees, University students and middle-school students.
The new edition counts with two new higher education institutions: the IAE and the ENSEEIHT, in addition to the previous support of the ENAC and TBS, along with a new school, Stendhal, with a class of 8th grade students joining the other 8th-graders class from the Bellefontaine school. On top of this, 12 9th grade students from Bellefontaine already involved last year in the programme will benefit from mentoring all throughout this coming year.
All those present in the auditorium were noticeably touched when they discovered the impact of the Flying Challenge, thanks to a 3ème student who spoke with simplicity and humour: “Thanks to the forum career, I’ve had the chance to discover what I want to do in the future, airplane cabin decorator.” “We are really lucky to be here, so take advantage of it!” she said to the audience.
All the participants were able to express their feelings on the importance of supporting and inspiring young people so that they may have success in the future. This new edition will benefit 54 students, mentored by 44 Airbus employees and 20 higher education students.
The Flying Challenge was launched in a great spirit and with our traditional group photo!
