United Way Romania has a new President and Vice President

United Way Romania’s Board elected last month its new management team for the next year. Radu Florescu, CEO Centrade Saatchi & Saatchi, took over the mandate from Mr. Steven van Groningen, CEO Raiffeisen Bank, to whom United Way wishes to thank for constantly supporting and helping us grow during two Presidential terms.

Literacy Program Reached More than 2000 Children

According to PISA, every fifth child has difficulties with reading and text comprehension in Hungary. With the objective to improve reading skills with a special focus on disadvantaged children, United Way Hungary has continued its literacy initiative launched in Spring 2014 and by some GE offices also joining in, the program has now reached more than 2000 children nationwide.

Thrive at 5 impact report is out!

Over the last two years LCVS | United Way have been co-ordinating and delivering ‘Thrive at 5’, a fantastic programme aimed at making a real difference to child literacy in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Liverpool.

United Way Romania’s School after School Program

The “School after School” was launched in October 2013 and helped until now 90 kids from low-income families stay in school and complete their studies, resulting in no kids abandoning school and at least one third of them improved their school results.
