Lisa Bowman

Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Lisa Bowman serves as United Way Worldwide’s Chief Marketing Officer and is responsible for the strategy and execution of United Way’s global marketing efforts.  Ms. Bowman oversees the brand, marketing, communications and research functions. She joined United Way Worldwide following a 16-year career at UPS where as part of her $80 million social investment portfolio in The UPS Foundation, Ms. Bowman oversaw the transportation company’s United Way campaign, which touched over 300,000 employees and raised nearly $70M for United Way.She joined United Way Worldwide from UPS where as part of her $80 million social investment portfolio in The UPS Foundation, Ms. Bowman oversaw the transportation company’s United Way campaign, which touched over 300,000 employees.

Ms. Bowman began her career with UPS in 2000 as Vice President of Market Development for UPS eVentures, company’s dot-com incubator. She subsequently led a number of high profile marketing initiatives including the re-branding of The UPS Store network and development of UPS Direct-to Door, a co-op media product. Prior to joining UPS, Ms. Bowman held a variety of senior level marketing roles at USWeb/CKS where she secured UPS as a client, Fabric.com; recently acquired by Amazon, and Ambitions, a private label manufacturer of women’s ready-to-wear.

Ms. Bowman holds a B.A. in Marketing from Columbia and holds a certification in Applied Project Management from Boston University.  She has also completed an executive education curriculum at Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business.

In addition to board positions with several organizations, Ms. Bowman has been both a board member and the board chair of United Way’s Global Corporate Leaders Advisory Council. She was the American Marketing Association’s 2017 Non-Profit Marketer of the Year and also serves on the National Board of the AMA.

She resides in Atlanta with her husband Bill and their Alaskan Klee Kai, Mojo, who is retired from a short run on Animal Planet.
