Leonel Parra

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

As a Financial Business Partner, Leonel Parra has had an extensive career at premier firms in financial and professional services, technology, and manufacturing. With global experience that spans Mexico, LATAM, US, and AsPac, Leonel has developed robust expertise in FP&A, international finance, capital and cash management, Risk Framework, Change Management, Six Sigma, and KPIs. He capitalizes on his strong leadership skills to deliver business performance optimization, process re-engineering, and cultural transformation. Leonel is fully fluent in English and Spanish.

Leonel’s most recent assignments include Freddie Mac where he participated in the creation of a new strategic organization to integrate Risk and Finance operations, and led the Business Management CoE for those two divisions. Prior to that he volunteered with SCORE to share strategic insights and leadership concepts with small business entrepreneurs. Leonel’s background also includes a diverse career at GE. His last role there was as CFO and Pricing Leader - Corporate Finance, for a commercial lending unit of GE Capital in Bethesda, MD. Prior to that, he was SVP FP&A and Productivity for the GE Capital Consumer Finance business in Bangkok, Thailand. Leonel’s other financial leadership positions with GE include serving as CFO South East Asia / Asia Pacific with GE Advanced Materials in Bangkok and as CFO Asia Pacific for GE Information Services in Hong Kong and the USA. He also had early career experience at Alcoa, Honeywell, and PWC.

Leonel received his BS in Business with a major in Accounting from the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, Mexico. He obtained his CPA from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and is a graduate of the GE Corporate’s Experienced Financial Leadership Program (EFLP).

Leonel is an avid reader and committed to life-long learning. Last year he obtained a certification in Python programming language and more recently completed a course on Data Analytics. His support for the promotion of financial literacy includes volunteering with Junior Achievement as well as designing and delivering a course called “Portfolio Challenge” to educate his children and their school friends on business and entrepreneurship.

Leonel lives with his family in North Potomac, MD. He and his wife have three children, two girls now attending college and a boy in high school. As a family they enjoy the outdoors, board games and the occasional outing for a meal and some fun conversations at the end of a busy week.
