United Way Worldwide Appoints Paul DeBassio as Executive Vice President, Investor Relations

Alexandria, VA (Jul. 1, 2015) – United Way Worldwide has appointed Paul DeBassio as Executive Vice President, Investor Relations.  Mr. DeBassio is responsible for leading the strategy and execution for global customer relationship management of individuals and multinational corporations, as well as building the capacity of local United Ways, so they can better serve their communities.  Prior to this appointment, Mr. DeBassio served as Vice President, Network Engagement & Performance, overseeing United Way Worldwide’s relationships with local United Ways in the United States.

“Paul has a terrific track record of working with local United Ways to increase investments in work that support communities’ education, financial stability and health goals,” said Brian A. Gallagher, President and CEO, United Way Worldwide. “I’m excited to see Paul take a broader role in leading the global network.”

Specifically, Mr. DeBassio will be leading the strategy and execution for global account management for multinational companies, serving as an advisor for their corporate social responsibility efforts, and identifying new ways to engage individuals in philanthropy.

“I have been connected to United Way since I was a teenager,” Mr. DeBassio said. “My family has supported United Way both financially and as volunteers. I hope to create and amplify the same meaningful experience for donors and companies to help them give back to their communities.”

Prior to his service at United Way Worldwide, Mr. DeBassio worked at local United Ways in New England and for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF of New England Chapter.

Mr. DeBassio graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Marketing from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in 1987.  He resides in New Hampshire with his family.
