United Way Worldwide CEO Brian Gallagher and Chinese Philanthropist XU Yongguang to Speak on Global

**Live dialogue in Beijing on Nov. 4 from 11am-12pm China Standard Time**

What:		Brian Gallagher and XU Yongguang will conduct an East Meets West dialogue on global philanthropy and its implication to China’s development of its nonprofit sector at the 2014 United Way Philanthropy Forum. Topics will include but not limited to: Traditional charity fund-allocation model vs. collective impact model Corporations’ involvement in creating shared value in local economies How China’s philanthropic landscape changes with its economic growth and social expectation

About XU Yongguang (许永光): Xu Yongguang is Chairman of the Narada Foundation, Vice President of China Charity Alliance. Xu founded the China Youth Development Foundation, as well as the famous Project Hope (希望工程), which was recognized as the most influential philanthropic brand in China.  He was a member of the Ninth and Tenth National Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).  In 2007, he co-founded the Narada Foundation with a mission to develop and foster social innovation in the nonprofit sector.  Xu is a renowned thinker and practitioner in China’s nonprofit organizational operation and research with over 25 years of experience. He is the Chief Editor of two renowned books: China's Third Sector Study Series and Inquiry of the World—Project Hope in Xu Yongguang’s eyes. In recent years, he has been advocating for structural reform in China’s philanthropic sector. He initiated and co-founded the China Foundation Center which has made significant progress in promoting transparency and accountability in China.
