Pat Hatler is the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Governance Officer for Nationwide Insurance.  During her eleven (11) years in office, Hatler has been responsible for the external and internal legal functions of this Fortune 100 financial services and insurance organization.  She manages a large professional staff and is responsible for legal, government relations, compliance, corporate governance, and corporate citizenship functions. 

Before Nationwide, Hatler was Senor Vice President at Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

She has received degrees from the University of Virginia (J.D.) and Duke University (B.S.).  She was Board Chair for the Association of Corporate Counsel from 2009-2010; Director of United Way of Central Ohio from 2003-2010; Director of the Columbus College of Art and Design from 2008-present; Director of Kent’s Hill School from 2008-present; and is a member of the City of Columbus Accountability Committee.
