Jorge Uribe is Global Productivity & Organization Transformation Officer for Procter & Gamble. The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is a recognized global leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of some of the world’s most trusted leadership brands. Established in 1837, P&G has grown into the world’s largest consumer goods products company that today markets brands in more than 180 countries. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, P&G had worldwide sales of more than $83 billion.
Mr. Uribe joined P&G in 1981 and has held numerous positions in the company such as Marketing Assistant in Geneva, Marketing Manager in Malaysia, Country Manager and General Manager in Colombia, and Vice President in Venezuela.
He has a longstanding commitment to United Way, having served on the boards of the United Way in Colombia, United Way International and the United Way Global Transition Board. He chaired the international Membership Support and Development Committee and currently chairs the United Way Worldwide Membership Accountability Committee. He also provided leadership to United Way’s Brazil initiative and works to increase network capacity in the Latin American region.
Mr. Uribe is personally dedicated to improving communities, having served on the board of directors for the American Chamber of Commerce-Colombia, Council of American Companies, National Industry Association, Conapri and as president of Alianza Social.
Mr. Uribe was born in Medellin, Colombia; he attended Universidad Nacional and received his Master’s Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
