Student United Way Leadership Retreat

The Student United Way Leadership Retreat is the annual national gathering of Student United Way, the student-led movement of United Way.  

Each year, student leaders, campus advisers, and United Way professionals from around the country meet in Alexandria, VA at the United Way Worldwide headquarters to share promising practices, build leadership skills, and challenge each other (and peers back home) to LIVE UNITED. Join us!

When & Where

This year the retreat will be September 14-16, 2012 at the Mary Gates Learning Center in Alexandria, VA

Who Should Attend

College student leaders, United Way representatives, and campus advisors actively working on Student United Way or interested in starting one are invited to participate.

Travel Support

Check back this summer (2012) for updated information. Currently, attendees that would like to participate in all meeting and social activities should plan to arrive Friday, September 14th by 12PM for conference check-in and opening activities and depart after 12PM on Sunday, September 16th.

Attendee Costs

To make the retreat accessible to participants, we typically have no registration fee for this event which includes speakers, facilitators, materials, meals and meeting space.  Attendees are responsible for their own travel costs including flights, ground transportation, lodging, and incidentals. An average cost to use as a base per attendee is $400, dependent on where you are coming from and if there are others to share rooms or vehicle expenses.  Fundraising tips and templates will be made available to attendees as we approach the event.  Check back this summer (2012) for updated plannning and registration information.
