The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation inspires and guides people to step forward and take action rooted in their community and stay true to themselves. They work with individuals, organizations, and communities to turn outward and develop their ability to make more intentional choices and judgments that lead to impact. After 20 years of innovating they are taking their approach to scale to allow people to make these ideas their own. To achieve this goal they are partnering with organizations such as United Way Worldwide, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and Kellogg Foundation.
United Way is partnering with The Harwood Institute to accelerate its efforts to achieve results in education, income, and health by turning outward, engaging more deeply with communities, and taking more strategic actions that are rooted in community aspirations.
In2Books
In2Books is an evidence-based, curriculum-aligned eMentoring program that fosters reading, writing and critical-thinking skills for 3rd to 5th grade students. In2Books matches students with adult pen pals who read the same books and correspond online about the important issues in the books. The In2Books program has been shown to significantly improve students' literacy skills and love of learning.

MENTOR helps children ages six to eighteen by providing a public voice, developing and delivering resources to mentoring programs nationwide and promoting quality for mentoring through standards, cutting-edge research and state of the art tools. National Alliance of Faith and Justice
National Alliance of Faith and Justice (NAFJ) is a nonprofit association of criminal justice professionals and community leaders, whose mission is to promote the value of the inclusion of faith in addressing prevention, consequences, and resolutions of crime with emphasis upon the most culpable and vulnerable issues and stakeholders.
National Association of Elementary School Principals
The Association believes that the progress and well-being of the individual child must be at the forefront of all elementary and middle-school planning and operations. National Baptist Convention USA Prison Ministry and Criminal Justice Commission
The National Baptist Convention Prison Ministry and Criminal Justice Commission exists in order to bring persons into meaningful and right relationship with God by belief and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching and healing. It is also to work collaboratively with NBC faith-based organizations and develop partnerships with other faith based, criminal justice, business and community organizations to engage in crime prevention, victim assistance, criminal justice, and prison ministry programs for the African-American Community in particular and others in general.

For the past 40 years, the National Black Child Development Institute has been steadfast in its mission to improve and advance the lives of Black children and their families, through advocacy and education.
National CARES Mentoring Movement
National CARES Mentoring Movement is devoted to closing the huge gap between the relatively few Black adult mentors and the millions of vulnerable Black children on mentoring organizations' waiting lists throughout the nation. It is imperative that we raise awareness of the critical need for mentors and role models among Black adults.
National Center for Family Literacy
Over the past 20 years, more than 1 million families have benefited from economic and educational gains thanks to the work of the National Center for Family Literacy. NCFL was established in 1989 by Sharon Darling, who continues as president.
With the help of more than 150,000 teachers and thousands of other volunteers, NCFL is better able to respond to the changing needs and demographics of underserved populations. And not just on a community level. Literacy initiatives and programs have been seeing results on the local, state and national levels that benefit from the efforts of NCFL.
National Collaboration for Youth
The National Collaboration for Youth (NCY), a 40-year old affinity group, is a coalition of the National Assembly member organizations that have a significant interest in youth development. Members of NCY include more than 50 national, non-profit, youth development organizations.

The National Education Association advocates for education professionals and unites their members and the nation to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed. There are 3.2 million members in the organization, including public school teachers and faculty members, education support professionals, retired educators, students, higher education faculty and staff, administrators and substitute educators.
National Human Services Assembly
The National Assembly is a learning community where leaders with parallel responsibilities at different national nonprofit human service organizations (e.g., CEOs, HR directors) share knowledge and expertise about their work in the fields of health, human and community development, and human services.
National League of Cities
Working in partnership with the 49 state municipal leagues, the National League of Cities serves as a resource to and an advocate for the more than 19,000 cities, villages, and towns it represents. More than 1,600 municipalities of all sizes pay dues to NLC and actively participate as leaders and voting members in the organization.

The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities.
The Office of Childcare, Administration for Children and Families, US Department of Health and Human Services
The Office of Child Care supports low-income working families through child care financial assistance and promotes children's learning by improving the quality of early care and education and afterschool programs. The Office of Child Care was established in September 2010 and replaces the former Child Care Bureau.
