Chicago Bears-United Way of Metro Chicago 2016 Hometown Huddle

On Tuesday, October 11th, Chicago Bears players joined United Way of Metropolitan Chicago for Hometown Huddle, this year in support of El Valor, a United Way partner agency that serves the South Chicago neighborhood. The Chicago Bears rookie and alumni players worked alongside volunteers from PNC Bank and United Way to complete landscaping projects for a new outdoor play area at El Valor's Rey B. Gonzalez Center. The players also played with children at the Center and spoke with parents about the services the Center provides. Gary Fencik, Chicago Bears Alumni and President of the Bears Care Board of Directors, presented United Way of Metropolitan Chicago a check for $40,000 from Bears Care to go toward the El Valor project. The Hometown Huddle volunteer day and investment helped to bring the project closer to completion.
