A Teacher Who Made Learning Inspiring

Mrs. Susan Nugent, of Pepper Drive Elementary was both my third and fourth grade teacher. She loved what she did and looking back I can tell that because she made us all love to learn. She always had the most creative way of teaching us, for instance, when learning of pioneers she spent (what I can only imagine) all energy and time and resources creating an overnight sleepover, the theme... Pioneers. She created games that would be reminiscent of what pioneer children would play, food reminiscent of what they would eat, and stories the likes of what would be told around their campfires. It was one of the best school experiences I could remember. But, in those two school years, her style of teaching inspired me so much that I too was determined to be a teacher. And now I am on my way to getting my teaching degree. If I could find her and be able to contact her, I would tell her what an immense impact she had on my life, and I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to learn under her for two years. I only wish it was more! See more Teachers Rock! stories
