United Ways of Vermont Establish the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund

United Way Worldwide offers its deepest sympathy to the people affected by Hurricane Irene. Throughout its path, Irene caused widespread destruction across the Eastern United States and at least 55 deaths. United Ways are working with private, public, faith-based and community partners to assess the long-term recovery needs of the community. Additionally, United Ways are assisting response agencies in the provision of food, shelter, emergency health and transportation for those affected by Hurricane Irene.

What you can do to help in the Hurricane-impacted communities

United Ways of Vermont is helping to raise awareness, coordinate relief and raise disaster relief funds. If you would like to help Vermonters impacted by the devastation of Irene, please make a donation to the statewide Vermont Disaster Relief Fund. The Vermont Disaster Relief Fund was created by the United Ways of Vermont) to be used specifically for long term recovery.
