Since the Mary M. Gates Learning Center opened one year ago today, the space has been used for a variety of meetings, events, webinars and learning opportunities. Far more than just a resource for the United Way, hundreds of outside organizations have taken advantage of the flexible space located right on the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria, Va.
“Our attendees loved the Mary M. Gates Learning Center,” Jeannette Mills, executive assistant to the president at the National Council on Aging said. Her organization’s endorsement makes us proud. So does the fact that in just one year, the Center has hosted nearly 400 meetings and met more than 8,300 guests.
In addition to being centrally located in the Washington, D.C. metro area, the Mary M. Gates Learning Center is a state of the art Gold LEED Certified building with full multi-media support. The building boasts its own studio and webcasting and streaming capabilities - a versatility that makes it easy for our guests to instantly connect with partners around the world.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating the success of the past year, and join us for one of our many upcoming events, such as the Harwood Public Innovators Lab in December. Community events such as these are great opportunities to not only make this a center of learning, but a true landmark for community change.
