Wells Fargo ranks #1 for community support
For the second year in a row, United Way is proud to recognize Wells Fargo as the largest workplace giving campaign in the U.S.
Wells Fargo team members earned this top spot by pledging an outstanding $38 million through Wells Fargo’s annual Community Support and United Way Campaign in 2010. Combined with other year-round donations to nonprofits and schools, team member donations exceeded $55.3 million. These generous gifts are being used to strengthen communities, including helping United Way meet its national goals to improve educational outcomes and increase the graduation rate, help more families become financially stable, and increase the number of healthy youth and adults.
In addition to giving, more than 39,000 Wells Fargo team members volunteered 1.3 million hours in 2010, providing financial education, building houses, mentoring youth, cleaning up parks and neighborhoods, and much more. The company also invested $219 million in grants to support 19,000 nonprofits.
