Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

The National Association of Letter Carriers will lead the nation's largest food drive to combat hunger on Saturday, May 14, 2011. On that day, letter carriers will collect non-perishable donations from homes as they deliver mail along their postal routes.

Brian Gallagher, CEO of United Way Worldwide, presented Student United Way Awards on Friday May 6, 2011 in Orlando, Florida at the annual Staff Leaders Conference with more than 1,800 local representatives from the United Way network present. Accepting on behalf of their Student United Ways: Alicia Hetrick (Cornell University); Ashley Rembert (Florida State University); Alexandria Lee (Saint Louis University); Mycal Hixon (University of Florida).

Last week, United Way Worldwide launched a program to recognize young leaders across the country who are advancing the common good by giving, advocating and volunteering in an effort to improve local communities in the areas of education, income and health.
