Many United Ways across the country offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a successful, proven strategy that mobilizes and trains volunteers to provide free tax service to working individuals and their families. Advocate for Food and Shelter
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program began in 1983. During its 28 years of operation, the program disbursed over $3.7 billion to over 14,000 local service organizations in more than 2,500 counties and cities. Now we can do something to make sure the gridlock in congress doesn't affect people who need food and shelter. More
