Paula’s professional career includes fundraising for arts and education and as a court reporter in Salt Lake City Utah.  Her community involvement spans decades, and includes numerous health and human service, arts and educational and governmental organizations. She has served on the boards and many committees of national, statewide and local organizations.  A partial list of these are: YWCA of Salt Lake, the YWCA World Service Council, International Women’s Forum of Utah, Women’s Philanthropic Network of Utah, University of Wyoming, Catholic Community Services, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Salt Lake Council of Women Past Presidents’ Council, Women’s State Legislative Council of Utah, National McGruff House Network, American Red Cross, State of Utah Foster Care Citizen Review Board, Department of Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services, Governor’s Appointment to the Board of Child and Family Services, Boys and Girls Clubs of Utah, Sen Orrin Hatch’s Women’s Advisory Committee, and the Utah Council for Crime Prevention. Her United Way experience includes serving on the board of directors of the United Way of Greater Salt Lake and numerous committees in resource development, community impact and advocacy.  She is Chair of the National Women’s Leadership Council’s Advocacy Committee.  Awards include United Way of Salt Lake Outstanding Volunteer of the Year, Salt Lake American Red Cross Lifetime Achievement,  Salt Lake Council of Women Hall of Fame, Utah Nonprofits Association Norma Matheson Volunteer of the Year, Governor of Utah and the Governor’s Commission for Women and Families Woman of Achievement Award (Lifetime Achievement and Service Award) .
