Brenda Williams

Brenda Williams was raised in San Marino, CA and attended Smith College in Northampton, MA where she majored in Economics and English. She worked for Bullock’s Department Stores in Los Angeles, working in the Finance Division for eight years. While in California, she was President of the Smith College Club of Pasadena and was active in the Junior League of Pasadena as Community Development Vice President. 

In 1993, she and her husband relocated to Olympia, WA and started Williams Group Marketing + Design.  In 2001, the couple added a second business, purchasing TAGS Awards & Specialties.  She is a past recipient of the South Sound Partners Leadership in Philanthropy Small Business of the Year, Lacey South Sound Chamber Small Business of the Year, and Thurston Economic Development Council Small Business of the Year. She served on Whitworth University’s Parents’ Council for five years and recently received the North Thurston Public Schools Partners in Education Student Centered Award for outstanding school-business partnership.

Brenda enjoys golf is an avid tennis player, having been ranked number one in her age group in the Pacific Northwest in singles and doubles in recent years.  She has also earned medals for her tennis in singles and mixed doubles in the National Senior Games.

She is a founding member of the United Way of Thurston County Women’s Leadership Council and serves on the Steering Committee. 

Brenda is married to her high school sweetheart, Mike.  The couple has two adult sons and a granddaughter.
